About
Welcome to 7th Street Burger Turtle Bay, a hidden gem tucked away at 304 E 49th St, New York, NY 10017. This casual eatery is redefining the smash burger experience in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. With its focus on simplicity and flavor, it is a must-visit for burger aficionados.
As you step inside, you might be taken aback by the modest seating arrangements. It’s a small space with just a couple of tables, but it sets the scene for what truly matters: the food. Diners rave about the burgers here, praising their precise cooking techniques and well-balanced ingredient ratios. Sameet Sapra puts it succinctly, describing the burgers as “excellent smash burgers” that truly rival the best in the business. The secret lies in the perfectly smashed patties, which are seasoned to perfection and complemented by a well-toasted bun.
Adding to the appeal are the crispy fries, which Josh Green highlights as nearly “too crispy,” a characteristic that keeps them fresh and delectable, even as you enjoy your meal. The mention of their sensational dirty fries, particularly the spicy variant, adds another layer of excitement for heat lovers. Clearly, the culinary wizards behind the counter know how to elevate even the simplest of sides.
The menu may be concise, but as Koen K points out, this focus is an advantage, allowing the team to hone their craft and deliver quality over quantity. Diners can choose from a selection of smash burgers, including a commendable vegetarian option in the form of an Impossible burger. Each bite is packed with flavor, making it hard to resist finishing the meal in just a few bites — a testament to their deliciousness.

“ This is an excellent, excellent smash burger. This is what in n out should be. The burger is cooked perfectly, smashed thin, well seasoned, good ratio of ingredients. The bun is toasted well. The fries are really crispy, almost too crispy and don’t get soggy (though I came at opening time). I’d need to try their loaded fries but I’d for sure come back again. ”
“ Basically a perfect burger. Brilliantly cooked, great bun, reasonably fast, efficient service. Not much seating, but to be fair you can eat these burgers in about three bites because they're insanely delicious! ”
“ Excellent smash burger, great bun and patty is cooked perfectly. The dirty fries are sensational go for the spicy ones if you can handle it. 2 tables to sit down, about 4 people on each. ”
“ Great burgers. I really enjoy their impossible burgers and fries. If you tried other locations them you know what to expect. Not a lot of seating at this location though. ”
“ The menu is small but that makes it great. They know what they do and they do it well for a great price. The fast food burgers were great. I would advise getting these takeaway or delivered, but eating in is possible. ”
“ My favourite Impossible Burger I ate whilst in NYC. Perfect bun, amazing char on the burger and the exact right amount of toppings/grease. So tasty. The store is pretty tiny with very limited seating. Would definitely eat more 7th Street Burgers! ”
